The world is mourning the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman and rock icon, who died on Tuesday, July 22, at the age of 76. Despite being open about his health struggles, from Parkinson’s disease to a serious spinal injury, rumors have it that he underwent assisted suicide in Switzerland.
Allegedly, the reality TV star had a “suicide pact” with his wife, Sharon Osbourne, who even acknowledged the claim in 2007. However, their daughter, Kelly Osbourne, denied it. So, what really caused the death of the beloved Prince of Darkness more than two weeks after his final Back to the Beginning concert?
Did Ozzy Osbourne Undergo Assisted Suicide?

Back in 2007, Sharon Osbourne told The Mirror that she and Ozzy were firm believers in euthanasia, which led them to create a plan to go to Dignitas, an assisted suicide organization in Switzerland, if either of them developed a brain-affecting illness.
“Ozzy and I have absolutely come to the same decision,” she said. “If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer's, that's it – we'd be off.”.
In fact, they even informed their children about the plan, and everyone agreed. With that in mind, the couple had already asked their lawyers to arrange everything, allowing them to stop worrying about their eventual end and view it as a “final gift of love” for their family.
Sharon later confirmed that the plan was still in place during an episode of The Osbournes podcast in 2023.
However, despite her mother openly discussing assisted death, Kelly vehemently denied claims that her parents had a suicide pact.
“Stop making articles or posts about how you think my parents are having a suicide pact,” she said in a video on her Instagram Story on July 11, over a week before her father died. “That was bulls–t my mom said to get attention one time. And my dad’s not dying. Stop.”
Kelly also criticized an AI-generated video circulating online that falsely depicted Ozzy declaring he was “going to die.”
“There’s this video going around on social media, and it’s supposed to be my dad, but it’s AI,” she explained in another post.
The video in question features a voice resembling David Attenborough’s, with Ozzy supposedly saying he doesn’t need a doctor to tell him he’s going to die because he already knows it.
“What the f–k is wrong with you people? Why would you spend your time making a video like this?” she asked. “He’s not dying. Yes, he has Parkinson’s, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he’s not dying. What is wrong with you?”
What is Ozzy Osbourne’s Cause of Death?

So far, the official cause of Ozzy's death remains unknown. His family announced his passing on Tuesday, saying he was surrounded by loved ones.
“It is more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passe away this morning,” the statement reads. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
To shut down the assisted death rumors, reports say that paramedics spent two hours treating Ozzy before he died.
According to Daily Mail, an air ambulance was called to Welders House, the godfather of rock’s Buckinghamshire mansion, on Tuesday morning.
“We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday,” a spokesperson for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance told the publication.
Ozzy first announced his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020, although he had been diagnosed back in 2003.
He also sustained serious injuries from a 2019 fall, which worsened an earlier spinal injury originally caused by a 2003 ATV accident. He underwent multiple surgeries over the years, including one to realign his back.
