Marvel's Vision is set to bring back a fan-favorite villain from the past as Ultron is set to join the android's next journey in the MCU.
A few months ago, it was announced that Marvel Studios is developing a new series that will center on The Vision following the events of WandaVision with Paul Bettany reprising the role and Terry Matalas serving as the showrunner.
Since then, fans have wondered whether the series will bring back some of the MCU characters connected with the character and, now, it looks like a fan-favorite villain is set to make his grand comeback.
James Spader to Return as Ultron in Vision Series
It was confirmed recently that James Spader is set to reprise the role of Ultron in Marvel's Vision series.
The award-winning actor last voiced the fan-favorite villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was his MCU debut. He didn't return to the role when the character appeared in What If...?
It is unknown whether Ultron will appear in all episodes, but he is expected to have a major role. The series is set to begin filming in England in early 2025.
While Ultron met his demise at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, given the nature of being an AI character, there is a way for them to bring him back in some capacity and perhaps torment The Vision in his new adventure.
The character is also heavily connected to Vision's origins so it's not surprising that he will be involved in the series, and it is exciting to see what kind of storyline they have in store for his return.
Let's wait and see for more updates regarding the series in the coming months and whether there will be more familiar MCU characters that might return.
Vision is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
