What is Vigilante Story About?
Vigilante is based on a webtoon written by CRG and illustrated by Kim Gyu-sam. It follows the story of a police academy student, Kim Ji-yong (played by Nam Joo-hyuk), who has seen the flaws of the justice system.
As a young child, he saw his mother get beaten to death by a thug. Unfortunately, the criminal only got thrown in jail for a few years.
Now that he is an adult, he comes face-to-face with the man responsible for his mother's death and sees he hasn't changed.
This angers Ji-yong, who beats up the thug as a way of seeking justice for his mother's death. It also fuels Ji-yong's desire to become a vigilante.
He is hunted by Chief Investigator Jo Heon (played by Yoo Ji-tae), who sees him as a criminal. Ji-yong is being supported by a second-generation chaebol, Cho Kang-ok (played by Lee Joon-hyuk).
Meanwhile, a reporter, Choi Mi-ryeo (played by Kim So-jin), is also interested in his story.
