Twenty Five Twenty One outshined other K-dramas that fans already watched.
On February 12, the tvN drama started airing its episodes on the network and Netflix. Since then, its name continuously appeared on several charts and rankings, and it even became the top drama for seven consecutive weeks.
A month later, it continuously dominated the Metropolitan area and the whole of South Korea by becoming the number 1 drama for 12 consecutive times. On top of that, it appeared on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for five weeks and became one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in history following the release of the last episode.
With that, cast members are beyond grateful for the attention they received. But Kim Tae Ri – who played Na Hee Do’s role – could still not believe the support the viewers gave.
Kim Tae Ri Reflects on Twenty Five Twenty One Being Well-Received By Public
In an interview after the K-drama’s conclusion, Kim Tae Ri revealed that she did not expect to receive such a response for the K-drama. According to the actress, she is not the type of person who think about the results whenever she does a project.
But after all the hardships they went through, she reaped the fruit of her hard work.

“While filming this drama too, I wasn’t hoping for a lot. However, since we all filmed so difficultly in the winter, the staff members went through a lot. Since the staff filmed with us like family from the very start to the very finish, feeling like we’ve been somewhat rewarded with the viewership ratings has been really nice,” she said.
Twenty Five Twenty One served as her first drama in four years since she appeared in another tvN masterpiece, Mr. Sunshine. The drama also gained success as it peaked at viewership ratings of 18.1 percent.
Kim Tae Ri Shares What She Thinks About Her Character, Na Hee Do
Elsewhere in the interview, she commented on Na Hee Do’s attitude – honest, energetic, and playful. The actress said that she acted freely like her not until her character experienced pain, trauma, and sadness.
“As my 33-year-old self, I so obviously thought, ‘What would this have been like for me?’ But to be honest, I am 33 years old. I think there were some aspects that I missed in terms of what I would’ve done as a high school student,” she said.
Despite their similarities, she ended the interview by saying that her first love was not like Na Hee Do’s – fortunately.
