Travis Kelce is rumored to have unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on Instagram, apparently in light of the ongoing legal dispute between Reynolds and Blake Lively and It Ends with Us actor Justin Baldoni.
The NFL star’s unexpected move has stirred speculation, as some suggest he may be distancing himself from the couple to protect his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s reputation.
Travis Kelce Allegedly Unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on Instagram
Taylor Swift’s reported feud with Blake Lively might have caused a rift in their partners’ friendship, since Swift’s beau, Travis Kelce, is said to have unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on Instagram.
The pop star became involved in the drama between Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni after her name was included in Baldoni’s lawsuit, which could even lead to the possibility of her being served with subpoenas.
Lively has reportedly been trying to make amends with Swift, according to sources. However, rumors that the Bad Blood hitmaker and Lively are still not on good terms reignited after fans noticed on Monday that Kelce was no longer on Reynolds’ follower list.
Although it’s unconfirmed whether Kelce had followed the actor before, users on Reddit posted screenshots: one shows a timestamp from 2023 indicating that Kelce followed Reynolds, and another displays a 2024 Instagram post from Reynolds that Kelce allegedly liked.
Reynolds, however, is still following the Kansas City Chiefs star as of April 28, according to TMZ. Lively is also still following Swift, but the singer-songwriter does not follow anyone connected to the Lively-Baldoni case.
An insider told PEOPLE days ago that Lively and Swift want to move on from the drama. “Blake knew she and Taylor would come back from this at some point and that their friendship wasn't done for good.”
They added, “Taylor was hurt by this situation, so she's relieved they were able to recover from this and put it all behind them because it wasn't something she took lightly.”
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift: Where Their Friendship Stands
Lively and Swift go way back, and their friendship has been well-known to both their followers, especially when Baldoni revealed that the Gossip Girl alum referred to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons,” while comparing herself to Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi.
According to the director, Reynolds and Swift pressured him to use Lively’s rooftop scene rewrite instead of Christy Hall’s original adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us.
When Lively felt she couldn’t convince Baldoni, she allegedly tried to intimidate him and mentioned her elite connections, namely, her husband and her pop icon friend.
Because of this information, though, sources revealed in February that the two were not on speaking terms, as Swift reportedly said she “felt” used, believing Lively had used her influence to sway the direction of the movie.
It didn’t take long for Lively to apologize to Swift. Earlier this month, sources say the actress reached out and apologized.
“It was important to Blake to be on good terms again with Taylor. It was never her intention to hurt Taylor or cause any harm to their friendship,” Page Six reported, adding that Lively missed her friend.
