The SuperBowl takes place this Sunday, and it's always been a great opportunity for studios to promote any upcoming films. We know that we won't get any previews for Star Wars Episode IX, but there will still be some great spots nonetheless.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, four spots/trailers coming to the SuperBowl are for Toy Story 4, Avengers: Endgame, the Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw, and Alita: Battle Angel.
Disney Pixar even released a teaser to confirm the upcoming preview for TS4:
Personally, the previews that I think are missing from the lineup are for Disney live-action films like The Lion King and Aladdin. Those movies are set to come out July and May respectively, and we still haven't gotten full trailers. My guess is that Disney wants all the attention on Toy Story and Endgame. They better not skimp on the marketing for any of the films though. The underperformance of Solo: A Star Wars Story is a testament to just how important it is to market a movie.
Hopefully we get some more unannounced previews on that day. There's nothing like a nice surprise that we don't see coming. Maybe the DCEU can finally give us a new full trailer for Shazam! that we've been expecting since the new year. I mean, the teaser was nice, but it wasn't really the trailer that we hoped for.
