With 2025 ending sooner than we thought, Epicstream has collected the top ten best-rated movies from Rotten Tomatoes.
One of these might just make your next watchlist before celebrating 2026. Let's dive into which of the most popular flicks made it onto our list.
Sinners
Admit it or not, nearly everyone who watched Sinners came to watch it in theaters, all because of three factors: Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, and vampires. Sinners also gained a 97% Rotten Tomatoes score due to its "masterful visual storytelling," thanks to writer-director Ryan Coogler's imagination and execution.
It's no wonder Coogler's first blockbuster even earned its title for being one of the strongest contenders for multiple Oscar nominations.

Ugly Stepsister
Ever think about the horrible things the ugly stepsister had to endure just to surpass her stepsister, Cinderella? In the 2025 iteration of the classic tale, the Ugly Stepsister movie showed a grotesque and raw twist on the Grimm fairy tale, seen from the titular character's point of view.

Kpop Demon Hunters
Sony may not have known their latest animation project, Kpop Demon Hunters, would be Golden, but right after its release, fans couldn't get enough of streaming and listening to all the songs on their setlist.
The story of Huntrix being demon hunters on their mission to take down every single demon Gwi-Ma created, including the Saja Boys, was a no-brainer masterpiece for every fan who loved its storytelling alongside its breathtaking animation on Netflix.

Weapons
The renowned horror director Zach Cregger (Barbarian, Companion) churned out another right from under his sleeve.
In Weapons, the horror flick focuses on the younger generation, particularly one of the most horrifying possibilities that could happen after children from the same classroom go missing, only to return with the most peculiar cases. It earned a 93% rotten tomato score for Cregger's true status as a "master of horror."
Streaming Platforms: HBO Max
Companion
Under the same director who magnificently orchestrated Weapons, the film Companion is essentially a typical "weekend getaway at a remote cabin gone wrong" situation. The horror-thriller turns to chaos when one of its guests, supposedly a subservient android built for human companionship, has gone haywire.
Similar to Weapons, Companion also earned 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Streaming Platforms: HBO Max
28 Years Later
A sequel to the original, 28 Days Later, the film returns with 28 Years Later, which takes place almost three decades after the rage virus forced the remaining humanity to self-quarantine. This time, the threequel focuses on a new group of survivors living amid the infected, only to discover that a new spread mutation not only affects the infected, but the survivors as well.

Thunderbolts*
A group of ex-cons and villainous misfits may be the only way to save the world? How would that work?
Marvel surprised fans by grouping up Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, Lewis Pullman's Sentry, Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster, Wyatt Ryssell's Captain America, David Harbour's Alexei Shostakov, and Hannah John-Kamen's Ava Starr aka Ghost for a single movie (and begged to see more of them in a sequel or a TV series!)
Streaming Platforms: Disney+
The Naked Gun
Bring back parody movies! Apart from the highly anticipated return of Scary Movie 6, Liam Neeson continued the legacy sequel of Leslie Nielsen's original bumbling detective in The Naked Gun.
The action-comedy parody spawned a whopping $102.1 million worldwide box office gross (estimated $52.6 million domestic earnings and $49.5 million international earnings), which is estimated to be half the budget the movie used to produce the iconic misadventure film.
Streaming Platforms: Paramount+
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
The third MCU movie to come out this year was The Fantastic Four: First Steps, where we finally get to see the first family join the ever-expanding roster of the billion-dollar franchise.
Not only did First Steps unleash the gigantic villain Galactus on the big screens, but fans also got a taste of how much stronger the new set of heroes will be once the next Avengers movies set out in cinemas again.
Streaming Platforms: Disney+
Superman
The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have been on a roll with its releases this year, but James Gunn's DC Universe wasn't about to fall behind. Not when David Corenswet's Superman leads the up-and-coming rebuilding of their comic book franchise.
Despite having the lowest rotten tomato score on this list, Gunn's Superman undoubtedly tops the rest of Man of Steel's theatrical history for not only bringing back the Clark Kent fans have long known him to be, but showing a promising future for what's next on Gunn's Gods and Monsters slate.
