Nothing could beat the original Harry Potter franchise, but there's one way the reboot could outshine the movies: by covering the side stories that have yet to shine on TV. These side stories may have a minor to major impact on the overarching plot, but either way, Potterheads agree that these five deserve a spot in the reboot.

Here are our top five best side stories that the Harry Potter remake should include in its episodes:

Neville Longbottom's Bigger Role Against Voldemort

One of the most confusing things the Harry Potter movies did was give Neville Longbottom a sudden major role, when all this time, he's been portrayed as a comic relief side character.

However, as far as prophecies go, Neville was supposed to be the alternative Chosen One, should the titular Boy Who Lived fail to defeat the Dark Lord. Exploring Neville's larger involvement and how similar he is to Harry could draw out the mystery, especially to those who have yet to read the franchise.

Ginny Weasley was Beyond Being Harry Potter's Girlfriend

Let's face it: all Potterheads (particularly those who have never read the books) thought that Harry and Hermione would end up together, only to get bamboozled that it was Ginny all along.

The movies had only shown Ginny as Ron Weasley's younger sister, a victim of Voldemort in The Chamber of Secrets, and an out-of-the-blue transition to being the Chosen One's girlfriend. Where did that come from? The reboot could smooth things out for fans.

Where Harry Potter's Triwizard Tournament Prize Went

Harry won the Triwizard Tournament, but we never did find out what happened to his prize money. In the movies, ever wondered how the Weasley twins were able to afford their magical joke shop? It wasn't out of luck after dropping out of Hogwarts: it came from Harry. After all, what were friends for?

Harry willingly gave some of his prize money, a thousand galleons, to afford the magical joke shop they always wanted to build for themselves. In exchange, the twins let him take whatever he pleased from their products.

The Story of the Marauders and Their Path to Becoming Animagi

Who would've known that the Marauder's Map originally belonged to Harry's old man?

While it's normal to know little about his deceased father, the Marauder and their journey to become Animagi, plus their friendship, need a greenlit spotlight in the reboot. If not the reboot, then their own spinoff story, perhaps?

The Significance of the Elder Wand in the Franchise

Harry's treatment of the Elder Wand is one of the many reasons why the original movies showed a different Chosen One than from the novels. In the movies, Harry merely snapped it in half, whereas in the books, the Elder Wand held a much greater purpose.

In the books, Harry used the wand to repair his original broken one before returning it to Dumbledore's tomb with a promise that the power would die with the Headmaster and break the dangerous cycle strewn across the series.
