Lady Gaga is set to make her debut in the upcoming Wednesday Season 2 as a mysterious teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). Although she wasn’t able to attend the Netflix series’ premiere in London on Wednesday, July 30, the show’s director, Tim Burton, had nothing but high praise for the multi-hyphenate artist.
In fact, if it were up to him, Burton said he’d love to work with Lady Gaga again. Could this mean there’s a future collaboration in the works?
What Did Tim Burton Say About Lady Gaga in Wednesday Season 2?
Lady Gaga didn’t make it to the Wednesday Season 2 premiere due to her ongoing Mayhem Ball tour. But despite her absence, Burton praised her performance on the show, proving she’s a force to be reckoned with.
“She’s such an artist and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational,” he told Variety. “But I felt that way about Joanna and Steve, who I’ve worked with before. These people come on this set, you see the whole crew kind of light up. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.”
In addition to Gaga, another new face joining the show is Steve Buscemi. He will play Nevermore Academy’s new principal, Barry Dort, after the death of Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie), who was fatally injected with a nightshade poison-filled syringe by Marilyn Thornhill (Laurel Gates).
Joanna Lumley will also appear as Wednesday’s Grandmama.
And it seems Gaga and Burton’s collaboration won’t end with Wednesday. While speaking at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, the acclaimed director hinted at another project with the pop icon, saying he had “done something else with her.”
However, when pressed for more details, the acclaimed director remained tight-lipped. “No, I can’t. But I hope so,” he refused.
What is Lady Gaga’s Role in Wednesday Season 2?
Lady Gaga will be a guest star in Wednesday Season 2. Her character is described as a “legendary Nevermore teacher” named Rosaline Rostwood.
As the “mysterious and enigmatic” professor, Rosaline is said to be “cloaked in mystery” but has “a reputation that precedes her.”
With the tease that she’s about to meet Wednesday, fans have to see what kind of relationship these two will have. So, will they be friends or foes?
