Thor: Love and Thunder Casts Guardians of the Galaxy Stars Chris Pratt and Vin Diesel

With Thor blasting off with the Guardians of the Galaxy by the end of Avengers: Endgame, a lot of people were wondering where the Guardians were going to be at the time of Thor: Love and Thunder. What's interesting is, it looks like they'll still be around in some capacity.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Pratt is said to reprise the role of Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord for Thor: Love and Thunder. We don't know how big Pratt's role in the film will be, but I have a feeling that he could be part of the beginning, since we have to find out how Thor finds himself once again connected with Jane Foster.

Besides Pratt, word is going around that Vin Diesel is also going to be providing the voice of Groot in the film, as Diesel had just arrived in Australia where the movie is being filmed. Nothing official has been announced yet, but it would make sense for more than just one Guardian to appear in the movie and Star-Lord and Groot feel like a good chunk of the team to make a cameo.

We don't know the full story of Love and Thunder yet, but it's said to be drawing on the storyline from the comics where Jane Foster gets cancer and is given the powers of Thor. While Thor: Ragnarok was a laugh riot, I'm hoping Taika Waititi adds some more serious drama to this movie, what with the storyline of Foster coping with a terminal illness and Thor trying to find his place in the galaxy.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently looking at a release on Feb. 18, 2022.
