Has The Uncanny Counter Season 3 Been Announced?
When The Uncanny Counter Season 2 first came out on July 29, 2023, some avid fans felt disappointed with the first episode of the show.
Personally, the episode felt rushed and cliche. It paid too much attention to Su Mon (played by Jo Byeong-kyu) and showed off how great of a Counter he was that he showed up just in the nick of time.
It wasn't until the season's antagonists came on screen that the show finally garnered some curiosity. And with such a crazy trio, it only seemed interesting how the Counters would manage to summon the evil spirits.
As the weeks went on, The Uncanny Counter Season 2 ratings improved and consistently remained solid. The producers remain hopeful that the viewership of the season finale could continue to rise.
Unfortunately, the peak viewership (according to Nielsen) of the second season doesn't compare with the first. It's possible that this could be because the show released its episodes together with Moving, one of the highest-rated Kdramas that also came out in August 2023.
Still, the show's producers remain hopeful. The show consistently remained on Netflix's global top ten, translating to more than a million views per week.
If things improve, a third season may be announced.
But ratings aside, there's also a chance that The Uncanny Counter won't be renewed for a third season. After all, there have been hints of a big climax this season ā especially with the upcoming big boss fight between So Mun and Ma Joo-seok (played by Jin Seon-kyu).
We'll have to update this post once a decision has been made.

Who Stars in The Uncanny Counter Season 3?
Sadly, there have been hints that a major character will depart the show. Right now, though, we don't know who this character will be.
This was hinted at the start when the group got their picture together. In that scene, Choi Jang-mul (played by Ahn Suk-hwan) said:
"Okay, let's make our promises. Everything will work out since we have a new member."
Mun added:
"Everyone in this photo will be alive until the end."
There have also been several other references to a grim ending at the end of The Uncanny Counter Season 2. Both Ga Mo-tak (played by Yoo Jun-sang) and Chu Mae-ok (played by Yeom Hye-ran) reminisced about their younger years as Counters.
The show also revealed that Mo-tak is the oldest Counter (aside from Jang-mul), followed by Mae-ok.
We're sad to think one of the original cast members could be leaving the show soon, but it's something that might really happen.
We'll update this post once more information comes up. You can stay up-to-date with our Kdrama articles here.
