According to reputable insider scooper, Daniel Richtman, Glen Powell's Star Fox has a sizeable role in the movie, in which he is trying to return to his own universe. Based on the insider's leak, the first shows "Fox leaving the prison where Bowser is being kept [and] Toad asks him, 'What's next?' and he says, "It's time to go home' [and] then [he leaves] on his new ship."

This sets up a clear spin-off revolving around either Powell's iconic Nintendo character or the official introduction to a Super Smash Bros. Movie, which the majority of Illumination fans would want the direction of the franchise to head, instead.

Meanwhile, the second post-credits scene reportedly takes place in a "hub world" where The Super Mario Galaxy Movie's heroes previously met Star Fox.

"There's this bit earlier in the movie of this monkey who steals stuff there," Richtman recalled, "[The] monkey steals someone's purse [and] then he gets punched by Daisy."

Daisy, as in Princess Daisy, the tomboyish princess Mario once saved from the rule of Tatanga in 1989's Super Mario Land, who is Princess Peach's best friend and might eventually become Luigi's love interest, as it is in the canon universe.

Considering how the Super Mario Bros. sequel played out based on the previous post-credits, it's likely that the sequel's post-scenes already serve what fans can expect in the franchise's future.

How the Post-Credit Scene Could Set Up Another Nintendo Spin-Off

While fans will have to wait once The Super Mario Galaxy Movie truly plays out on the big screens, the reported post-credit scenes are already heading in the right direction where fans want the franchise to be.

In the first Super Mario Bros. Movie, they featured two post-credit scenes, too: the first one had a miniature Bowser singing a hopeless ode to Princess Peach in his cage, teasing the new dynamics after losing, while the second had a green-and-white-speckled egg that cracked before the screen cut to black. Hence, Yoshi, played by Donald Glover, was born in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

If the sequel's reported post-credit scenes are indeed real, then we're looking at a spotlight on Star Fox and his adventure to return home, an all-new storytelling on the Wario brothers, and an upgraded Luigi story and his potential on-screen romance with Princess Daisy.
