DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran officially confirmed that the Jimmy Olsen spin-off, titled The People v. Gorilla Grodd, has been greenlit at HBO, with filming set to begin later this year.
Spearheaded by showrunners Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the series will embrace the satirical "true-crime docuseries" style made famous by American Vandal, which is a mockumentary of true-crime shows like Making a Murderer.
Alongside Gisondo's return as Olsen, the spin-off will feature an ensemble cast reprising their Superman roles, including Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Wendell Pierce as Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief Perry White.
