First Look at Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey in Morocco
The set photos from the filming of The Odyssey in Morroco have made waves online, giving fans their first look at Nolan's upcoming epic film.
The beloved filmmaker was spotted on the set working with the crew. Photos of the film's lush production design give a glimpse of its recreation of the ancient Greek period.
Matt Damon, who is set to play Odysseus, and Jon Bernthal have also been spotted by fans in Morocco.
Aside from Morocco, the film is also expected to be shot in the United Kingdom and Italy.
A few weeks ago, it was reported that The Odyssey will partly film on the island of Favignana in Sicily, Italy. This island is believed to be where Homer envisioned Odysseus landing with his motley crew to barbecue goats and stock up on food.
Using new IMAX technology, most of the film's mythical action scenes will be shot in various parts of Sicily.
What is Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey About?
Nolan's The Odyssey is an adaptation of Homer's eponymous epic poem. The story follows Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, on his journey home after the Trojan War to reunite with his wife, Penelope.
The film boasts a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, and many more.
However, in classic Nolan fashion, the details about the characters the cast will play are still being kept secret.
The project is slated to be Nolan's most expensive film to date due to its big-budget epic scope, large ensemble, and months of shooting around Europe.
