Ever since its release, The Boys has delivered jaw-dropping moments. From exploding heads to crashing planes, this show has provided us with some of the most gruesome scenes.
Luckily, the fourth season is just around the corner, so the violence and drama will not stop anytime soon.
To celebrate the new season, let's have a look at 8 of the show’s best and wildest moments.
Popclaw’s Skull Crushing Orgasm
The Boys does a wonderful job of mixing gore with sex, but it gets a little weird sometimes. We’ve seen our fair share of crazy moments in The Boys, but this had to be one of the craziest. In season 1, Popclaw is introduced, a superhero with retractable claws and super strength. The crazy part is what happens in episode 3.
High on Compound-V, Popclaw initiates oral sex with her landlord. During this roleplaying sex scene, she sits on his face and crushes it as she orgasms. We see the landlord's brain contents spilt all over the floor just after. You definitely need a strong stomach to watch this scene.
The Deep Eats Timothy
We see The Deep’s connection with his marine friends throughout the show. However, in season 3, Homelander forces The Deep to eat his octopus friend Timothy. While The Deep is potentially the most hated character on the show, everyone could feel for him in this scene.
What made this moment so weirdly disgusting was the fact that Deep kept narrating Timothy’s feelings. Even though the audience felt remorse for Deep and Timothy, Homelander didn’t seem to care. This scene shows how twisted and menacing Homelander can be.
Hughie’s Girlfriend Explodes
In season 1, this is what we see in the first opening scene. The show’s star, Hughie, is hanging out with his girlfriend Robin. They’re standing on the side of the road kissing as A-Train, a supe with super speed, runs through her. The only thing that remains of Robin is her hands.
The initial moment's blood, gore, and violence set the tone for The Boys. Once we saw this, we knew the show would not stop delivering.
Homelander Drinks Breast Milk
From all the things we’ve seen in The Boys, we never thought this would be an actual plot point. Homelander is one of the most powerful beings in The Boys universe. But his addiction to breast milk is something we didn’t expect.
In season 2, Homelander goes to Madelyn’s office, takes a bottle of her breast milk from the fridge, and drinks it. We’ve seen Homelander get jealous of Madelyn’s newborn baby. However, killing Madelyn and then drinking her saved breast milk was something way too out of pocket, even for him.
Flight 37 Crashes
This iconic scene emerges when Homelander and Maeve are sent to rescue civilians from a hijacked plane. In the confrontation with Homelander, the hijacker kills the pilots and immediately gets lasered by Homelander. With no pilot and a broken console, Flight 37 becomes unstable.
Homelander and Maeve are left with the choice of saving the civilians or leaving them to die. Homelander chooses them and chooses the latter. This scene depicts his twisted nature and gives the fans a thrilling moment as we see Flight 37 meet its end through the POV of Maeve and Homelander.
Homelander’s Birthday Speech
Homelander appears quite a lot in our list of iconic moments, and it's pretty well deserved. The role of Homelander fits Antony Starr like a glove. While there were many moments where Starr showed his skills as an actor, this is where he shined the most. Homelander’s birthday speech in The Boys' third season was genuinely terrifying.
The speech starts when Homelander interrupts Starlight at an event celebrating his birthday. What’s supposed to be a happy occasion turns incredibly dark as Homelander gets on the microphone and reveals his true self. His unapologetic moment is so iconic that music producer Metro Boomin samples it and uses it in his album Heroes and Villains.
Soldier Boy’s Identity Reveal
While Homelander has the entire world in his chokehold, Soldier Boy can hold his own against him. And in season 3, we find out why that is. The entire Soldier Boy arc, up until his identity is revealed, had all the fans on the edge of their seats. However, none of us expected him to pull a Darth Vader.
Towards the end of the season, Soldier Boy reveals that he is Homelander’s father. It is shocking that this is after their epic battle at Herogasm. Ever since then, we’ve been waiting to see what happens next. Fortunately, The Boys season four is just around the corner.
Herogasm
If we were to list the best moments from this episode, it would take up the entire list. So, we decided to combine them all. Herogasm provided us with one of the most iconic episodes in entertainment.
While some of the Supes were getting intimate with others, The Deep was engaging in sexual acts with an octopus. Homelander was battling it out with Soldier Boy and Butcher. And M.M. was getting drenched in super sperm.
From Deep’s private moment to an epic battle, Herogasm delivered on all fronts. The entire episode was filled with weird, gruesome, and violent moments. Overall, it's safe to say that Herogasm was everything the fans wanted it to be.
Just The Tip of The Iceberg
With that, we conclude our list of the best moments from The Boys. While we tried our best to list all the iconic scenes, this list doesn’t even crack the tip of the iceberg. But that’s just because The Boys’ entire run time could be considered iconic. There’s not a single moment without blood, gore, or weird stuff.
However, we still believe some honourable mentions should be included. So, let’s look at some moments we think are worthy.
- We have Termite’s sneeze that explodes his partner's genitals and his entire body.
- Homelander kills his doppelganger while having intimate relations with him.
- And a compound-V-enhanced Butcher battling it out with Homelander in season 3’s finale.
These moments make The Boys what it truly is.
We’ve seen some of the most out-of-pocket stuff in this show, and we don’t expect it to stop soon. So, keep an eye out for more weirdly gruesome moments as The Boys returns for its fourth season.
