Here is our list of the most anticipated new and returning TV shows to help guide your next binge-watch plans in January 2026.

His & Hers (Netflix) - January 8

The new limited series His & Hers follows a journalist who investigates a murder in her hometown, clashing with a suspicious detective. There are two sides to every story, which means someone is always lying.

The cast is led by Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal. Seeing the two talented stars share the screen is already the reason why this is a must-watch. There are six episodes in total that you can binge-watch when it premieres.

The Pitt Season 2 (HBO Max) - January 8

The hit medical series, which explores the realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America, as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, is back with a highly anticipated second season.

Following its acclaimed first season and Emmy wins last year, there is a lot of excitement for the hit show's sophomore run and hope that it will be able to deliver the same quality and hype as its debut season.

The Night Manager Season 2 (Prime Video) - January 11

After 10 years, The Night Manager is back with a second season that explores a new story but still delivers the same tension that we've loved in the world of John le Carre's beloved novel.

In this new season, Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) thought he’d buried his past. Now living as Alex Goodwin, a low-level MI6 officer running a quiet surveillance unit in London, his life is comfortingly uneventful. Then one night, a chance sighting of an old Roper mercenary prompts a call to action and leads Pine to a violent encounter with a new player: Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos.

Hijack Season 2 (Apple TV) - January 14

The hit thriller series is back with another action-packed adventure that will take place in a new setting, but delivers the same tension and thrill that we loved from the first season of Hijack. Idris Elba returns to star.

In the upcoming season, a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while above ground, authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives. Sam Nelson is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster.

Ponies (Peacock) - January 15

Ponies follows two secretaries at the American embassy in 1970s Moscow who become CIA operatives after their husbands are killed, uncovering a Cold War conspiracy behind the tragedy.

The new series stars Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson. All eight episodes of the first season are being released simultaneously for your next binge-watch, especially if you're looking for a new spy thriller series.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (Paramount+) - January 15

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy follows young cadets who train to become Starfleet officers as they deal with friendships, rivalries, and romance, all while facing a mysterious threat to both the Academy and the Federation.

This is a new series in the Star Trek franchise, and this time around, it will focus on younger characters. Several cast members from Discovery are also back to reprise their roles, while Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti joined the cast.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO) - January 18

The series follows two unlikely heroes wandering Westeros: a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

The new Game of Thrones prequel series has been one of the most anticipated TV releases this year, following its delayed original release last year. This is yet again another expansion of the franchise that explores more of the Westeros history.

The Beauty (FX) - January 21

In The Beauty, when international supermodels begin dying in gruesome and mysterious ways, FBI Agents Cooper Madsen and Jordan Bennett uncover a conspiracy that threatens the future of humanity. The investigation leads them directly into the crosshairs of "The Corporation," which will stop at nothing to protect its trillion-dollar empire.

This marks another new series from mega-producer Ryan Murphy. It has a star-studded cast including the likes of Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, Ashton Kutcher, and Rebecca Hall.

Wonder Man (Disney+) - January 27

The new MCU series, Wonder Man, follows aspiring actor Simon Williams, who crosses paths with washed-up actor Trevor Slattery as they pursue roles in a remake of a beloved superhero movie from the '80s.

This marks the debut of the beloved titular superhero in the MCU. It is expected to be meta-commentary about the so-called "superhero fatigue," while also expanding the world of the MCU that we've never seen in other shows in the franchise.

Shrinking Season 3 (Apple TV) - January 28

The beloved comedy series is back with a third season that will continue to explore our favorite characters' hijinks and heartfelt journey of grief, happiness, and moving forward from past guilt.

The upcoming season of Shrinking will feature the acting comeback of Michael J. Fox, who will guest star in multiple episodes and share scenes with fellow acting legend Harrison Ford.

Bridgerton Season 4 (Netflix) - January 29

The fourth season turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball.

Just like the previous season, the release will be divided into two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on January 29, while the second batch of episodes will be released a month later.
