Wheatley also joked about what Meg 3 might look like, suggesting he would give “Meg” legs and let it walk on land.
“Well, what I want to do is have The Meg being researched for military purposes, and it gets up on land, on legs (laughs),” he continued.
Will Jason Statham Return to Meg 3?
While the box office performance of the second Meg movie was lower than the first, Jason Statham’s star power could still draw audiences to Meg 3.
However, after The Trench, Statham has had a busy schedule with consecutive projects like Expend4bles, The Beekeeper, and A Working Man. He is also set to lead The Beekeeper 2, which is already in production and scheduled for a 2027 release.
It’s worth noting that Statham doesn’t just star in these films; he also serves as an executive producer on some, showing he has a lot on his plate.
Given how closely the franchise is tied to Statham’s success, it’s likely he would return as Jonas Taylor.
However, there’s still no guarantee that Meg 3 will happen, or that it will feature the same cast and director.
