Any Star Wars fan can agree that Katee Sackhoff was perfectly picked to play the live-action debut of Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian. She had brought the character to life twice, in voice and action.
And yet, still couldn't shake the feeling that despite the good reception of her performance, the Star Wars series heavily impacted her career.
How Did The Mandalorian Affect Katee Sackhoff's Career?

Katee Sackhoff first voiced Bo-Katan Kryze in Star Wars: The Clone Wars before reprising the role in The Mandalorian season 2 episode 3 titled Chapter 11: The Heiress. However, during a conversation with her guest, Tahmoh Penikett, on her podcast, The Sackhoff Show, she candidly shared the negative impact of being part of Star Wars on her acting career.
"I've never really played a character. You know what I mean? I've always played two steps removed from myself, in a sense. Like, it always felt grounded in some part of my belly, who I was."
Sackhoff admittedly lost her confidence after her Mandalorian role was over. She "didn't understand" Bo-Katan outside of "becoming her" for TV.
"As much as I understood her, I never felt her in my stomach. I never identified with her. I didn't know how to find her. It broke me," Sackhoff said, "It just broke me where I started doubting everything about myself. I'm not a strong auditioner on tape, and I was having to put myself on tape."
The Mandalorian season 3 ended in April 2023, and since then, Sackhoff hadn't "booked anything" and basically "didn't work for three years."
Sackhoff even snapped at her old manager for making it seem like "everything is easy" for her to get the roles she wanted, "And now I'm at a point where I'm falling apart because it's not easy, and you're telling me it's easy. It's so dismissive."
What Else Has Katee Sackhoff Become An Icon Of Outside of Star Wars?

Katee Sackhoff may not realize what she's capable of, but her fans do. In fact, she had already become an icon herself before she landed in the galaxy far, far away.
Some of her most notable roles include Battlestar Galactica as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, 24's Dana Walsh, Longmire as Sheriff's Deputy Victoria Moretti, and Arrowverse's The Flash as Leslie Jocoy aka Amunet Black, among others.
Count in The Mandalorian's Bo-Katan and Sackhoff's roster almost always depicts strong, independent leaders and warriors, so there is no doubt that her ability would take her farther, given the amount of courage it takes, especially in Hollywood.
With her shared vulnerability in her podcast, it only means one thing: she knows she can conquer all and land the best roles in the industry once she regains her confidence. It's not easy looking for the next best thing after being a part of it.
