The Mandalorian Makes a Surprising Jar-Jar Binks Joke

The Mandalorian Episode 6 has arrived and fans are going nuts over the number of cameos that happened. As we wait for more of these cameo characters to appear and become even more canon, some fans might have skipped on a Gungan joke, which is obviously a slight jab against infamous Star Wars: ThePhantom Menace character Jar-Jar Binks. And by a slight jab, we mean a big punch to the freaking face.

During The Mandalorian Episode 6, Bill Burr's Mayfield makes fun of the fact that our untitled character, who still calls himself The Mandalorian, refuses to remove his helmet. Mayfield then suggests if our mysterious character is actually a Gungan and then says "Is that why youssa don't want to show your face?" In that universe, Mayfield is racially insensitive but it was a private conversation.

Clearly, I have no experience with racially insensitive slang. Moving on…

While we have yet to see a Gungan post-trilogy, it is interesting to know that their race still lives on in the universe. Maybe we can actually get some cool-looking Gungans that can avenge how lame Jar-Jar was in The Phantom Menace? Come on guys, he can't be the only relevant man of that race.

Hopefully, with more seasons of The Mandalorian down the line, we can get some really cool episodes that expand on the series' lore. At the least, give us a cool Gungan for one. Fans can stream the first six episodes of The Mandalorian now in the Disney+ streaming service.
