The Mandalorian Does Things 'No Star Wars Fan Has Ever Seen'

There's a whole lot of excitement building up over Lucasfilm's upcoming Disney+ series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

There's been a lot more news about the show now that The Mandalorian is two months away from its release date. Not only have Star Wars fans been getting new photos from the set of the highly anticipated series, but they've also been getting interviews with The Mandalorian's cast and crew.

The most recent set of interviews comes from Entertainment Weekly. The publication wrote a detailed piece on the series, and the site interviewed one of the show's episode directors, Filoni. The Star Wars: Rebels showrunner is more than excited for fans to see the series, saying that viewers are going see things they've never seen before in the franchise.

"I've seen a lot of Star Wars," Filoni told the publication, "And what's most exciting to me is that I am very confident we did some things — and fans will see things — that have never been seen before."

For those who haven't been following news on the show, The Mandalorian is going to be set in the outer rim of Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away right after the downfall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi and before the events of The Force Awakens. In a way, series showrunner Jon Favreau says it's going to be a Star Wars Western.

"It's like after the Roman Empire falls, or when you don't have a centralized shogun in Japan — and, of course, the Old West, when there wasn't any government in the areas that had not yet been settled," the Lion King director told the publication, "Those are also cinematic tropes in films that originally inspired George Lucas to make Star Wars."

It looks like we definitely have a lot to look forward to with the show.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is set to premiere on November 2, 2019.
