The Mandalorian Director Robert Rodriguez Shares Hopeful Alita 2 Update

It has been a while since we got any updates about the Alita: Battle Angel sequel but it looks like Robert Rodriguez finally has some good news. The filmmaker has just teased on the possibility that Disney will develop Alita 2 soon.

Rodriguez recently spoke to Forbes about his current projects and he also discussed the possibility that Alita's story is far from over.

"I think anything is possible," Rodriguez said. "Disney bought Fox, and they have Disney+, so that is worth the conversation."

But will Robert Rodriguez actually direct Alita 2? Not surprisingly, the We Can Be Heroes director admitted that he would sign up to helm the project.

"I know other people would love to see another, and I would love to do another one," Rodriguez said. He even offered an option for how Disney could release the sequel.

"As far as where it would go or how it would be made, I think streaming has opened up many opportunities such as sequels. It's already a pre-sold concept, it's already got a built-in audience that wants to see it, and then it's delivered to them in a way that's the easiest for them to consume. So, it's not a bad idea," Rodriguez said.

We're loving the idea that Rodriguez is very confident about the future of Alita 2. With that in mind, we're hoping to get an official announcement from Disney about the sequel soon. In the meantime, Rodriguez has been confirmed to serve as executive producer and possible director for the Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett.
