The Mandalorian Season 3's finale may have been criminally short but it's still an episode that delivered from start to finish. An episode that finally saw the rebirth of Mandalore, Chapter 24 also marked the brutal death of one character that has been a huge thorn in the side of Din Djarin and Grogu since the beginning.

At long last, The Mandalorian killed off the seemingly invincible Moff Gideon after three seasons and his death was pretty brutal. During the climactic moments of Chapter 24 titled "The Return", Din and Bo-Katan square off against the Imperial leader who's gotten stronger since the last time we saw him.

Thanks to his new armor forged from beskar alloy, Gideon was able to withstand both Din and Bo-Katan and even destroyed the Darksaber with his bare hand. However, the collective forces of all Mandalorian tribes were just too much for Gideon and his Imperial crew to handle.

Just when viewers thought Moff was getting the upper hand, Axe Woves launches the light cruiser straight to the Imperial base. Next thing we know, Gideon was engulfed in flames caused by the massive crash and just like that, the cunning villain is no more.

Season 3 ended on a sweet note but the threat of the Empire is still looming in the Outer Rim. It's already safe to say that the Shadow Council will avenge the death of Gideon even though they never saw eye to eye.

And when you think about it, Moff Gideon's death is just the tip of the iceberg because an even bigger villain in Grand Admiral Thrawn is set to re-emerge.
