The Mandalorian actor Brendan Wayne recently offered a disappointing update on the potential fourth season of the series.
Following the announcement from Lucasfilm that they are developing a new Star Wars movie featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, there have been questions about whether the fourth season is still happening.
So far, the studio remains mum on the future of the series as they are currently focused on the big-screen project as the next step.

Brendan Wayne Shares Details on Potential The Mandalorian Season 4
In a recent appearance on The Chatooine Show, Wayne was asked about the reports that The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to begin filming this June.
He responded by saying that he'd also heard about that month as the potential start of production.
"What I keep hearing everywhere is it’s [filming beginning in] June. I think Jon [Favreau] said June," Wayne said.
When asked whether the series is still getting a fourth season, he revealed that he has no idea about it as they are only working on the movie at the moment.
He added, "No [season four]. I know that we’re doing a movie for sure, that’s what I know."
Wayne also assured that the movie is not going to be just a cash grab and director Jon Favreau has good intention behind the decision to do the big-screen project.
"I will tell you, honestly, like Jon would never do that. I understand production, like the studio, being like, 'Hey, you're doing a movie, not doing season four?' If that's how it occurred. That's fair because it's in their best interest," he said.
"They make more money off a movie, it's not even close. It's not even close! But Jon loves and honors everything he does, but specifically Star Wars, because for him, it means something beyond this moment."
Based on what we're hearing from Wayne's comments, it sounds like a fourth season is unlikely at this point since Lucasfilm is not developing it at the same time as the movie.
Perhaps we will be getting some clarification in a few months once the movie has started production and hear details on how they are planning to release the movie.
