When you have a multi-million dollar project, you have the luxury to improve it in all the ways possible. That is a perk The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power enjoys and surprisingly, it boasts a big amount of VFX shots just for its first season.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has teased a lot of its picturesque views and amazing VFX shots through its trailers but that is just the first of many. With Season 1 arriving, there are more VFX shots for the people to watch, a whole lot more with its whopping amount!
As reported by Variety, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 boasts a whopping number of 9,500 VFX shots used throughout Season 1 of the series and considering it will have five seasons, one may expect that the number of VFX shots will just grow over the years.
With 20 VFX studios on board The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1, this number is still a lot for each of them to put it all together sharing assets and making it look cohesive throughout the show. Do the math, it gives each of the studios a lot of shots to work on.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power currently sits as one, if not, the most expensive TV show to be ever created and throughout the five seasons, Amazon would be reportedly shelling out $1 billion in total.
Well, creating a whole fantasy world like The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power would really require such a high amount of VFX shots but having 9,500 VFX shots put together is a tedious job which requires high precision for every person working on it. Kudos to the whole VFX team!
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power drops a double-header premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 1st in the US and September 2nd in other countries. It will be releasing new episodes weekly.
