Actress Lim Ji Yeon, who plays Park Yeon Jin’s character, received praise from The Glory viewers for her acting skills.
On Dec. 30, Netflix shared the first eight episodes of Song Hye Kyo’s Kdrama series. The Glory explores the life of a former school violence victim who spends 10 years of her life plotting revenge on her bullies. She gets the chance to do so when she becomes the homeroom teacher of her bully’s child.
The Glory cast members include Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, Lim Ji Yeon, Shin Ye Eun, Yeom Hye Ran, Park Sung Hoon, Song Byeong Geun, Jung Sung Il, Cha Joo Young, Kim Hi-Eora, Bae Kang Hee, Kim Gun Woo, and Seo Woo Hyuk.
While they all showed brilliant acting performances, Lim Ji Yeon earned the most praise because of the intensity of her skills.

Lim Ji Yeon Earns Praises for Her The Glory Performance
In The Glory, Lim Ji Yeon plays the role of Park Yeon Jin, a weather forecaster who once led the use of bullies and delinquents in abusing Moon Dong Eun when they were in college.
Initially, fans were worried about how she would play the antagonist role as she notably portrayed characters with reserved personalities in the past years of her career.
Writer Kim Eun Sook revealed in an interview that they were aware of it, saying, “I decided to take the first risk of casting her as the antagonist although there were concerns, she might mess up because this was her first time playing the villain."

After seeing her performance, viewers and fans shared their thoughts in an online community and applauded her performance. Among the comments read:
"I was really surprised when I watched this drama because I always thought Lim Ji Yeon sucked at acting, but she was so natural this time."
"But I think it is easier to play the villain than those reserved characters because you have to express their subtle emotional changes for those characters, but for villains, you can have your emotions explode.”
“She is just Park Yeon Jin’s character herself. She acted so crazy well that I would get scared of her. Also, I can't remember her previous works before this because she played this role so well.”
The Glory Fans Enraged Due to Netflix’s Decision To Split the Series
Netflix released The Glory’s part 1 on Dec. 30 and scheduled the second part for release in March.
Financial News (via Naver News) reported that the viewers took their dismay on online forums as they expressed their disappointment because of Netflix’s “too much” cliffhanger on part 1.
Netflix usually shares a show’s episode all at once or follows the Korean way of releasing two episodes per week. But this time, it decided to split the 16-episode series into two instead.
The platform has not responded to the issue yet.
