A set photo from the filming of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is making waves online as it gave us our first look at The Thing's practical costume.

Production is currently underway for the highly-anticipated MCU film ahead of its release in theaters next year. Fans were given a very early glimpse during Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con Hall H presentation last month.

So far, there are no official first-look photos yet on the First Family's costumes, but fans have been looking forward to seeing what the MCU version looks like on their superhero suits.

The Fantastic: Four Steps Set Photo Offers First Look at The Thing's Costume

Fans now have their first look at The Thing's costume in The Fantastic Four: First Steps as a set photo from its filming in London has surfaced online.

To the surprise of many, the costume is seemingly done practically instead of Ebon Moss-Bachrach simply wearing a motion-capture suit.

You can check the photo here:

There is also a video of the crew helping to put the costume to presumably Moss-Bachrach (or a stunt double).

It is exciting that we finally have our first look at The Thing's costume, and it's even more surprising that it is done practically on set. However, it is likely that it is still going to be enhanced by VFX during post-production to improve its imagery on screen.

There is also a possibility that it might just be a reference point for actors and VFX artists so that they'll know the character's blocking on the scene.

Nevertheless, a lot of fans were happy to get a glimpse of The Thing's costume, and it would be interesting to see whether we will also have the photos of the other characters soon.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is slated for release in theaters on July 25, 2025.
