Mike Flanagan's The Fall of the House of Usher, although being best renowned for his work in the horror genre, will probably adopt a different tone, according to star Henry Thomas.
Thomas will reteam with Flanagan for The Fall of the House of Usher, an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's short story of the same name, as well as other works by the legendary horror author. Production began in January, and as the program nears completion, one star is teasing what to expect from it.
The Fall Of The House of Usher: What to Expect
Thomas offered some additional details for Flanagan's upcoming Netflix horror series, The Fall of the House of Usher, in a recent interview with SlashFilm. The series' regular co-worker teased that it would have a darker tone than most other Flanagan productions and take a darkly comic approach, but he would not provide any plot information.
“... each of the episodes is sort of one, or two, or a conglomeration of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe. The various characters are based on different characters in the writings and things,” the actor explained.
“But yeah, it's going to be really cool, and it's very darkly comedic, and it's, I think, going to be something that audiences will really get a great kick out of."
The Fall Of The House of Usher Release Date
The Fall of The House of Usher will be available on Netflix as an eight-episode series. There is no release date or trailer, but we anticipate it will arrive on our screens in 2022.
Fans of the filmmaker will be excited by Thomas' tease of a darkly humorous approach to Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher as he continues to stretch his writing style to new subgenres. Poe was known for deviating from his grim genre with sarcastic and hilarious tales. Thus Flanagan's new tone for The Fall of the House of Usher may be in keeping with the original material he is adapting.
