There’s nothing more exciting than knowing an actor from a popular show like Netflix’s The Crown will be joining one of the world’s biggest franchises, Marvel. The upcoming Deadpool 3 continues to offer exciting things, as they recently added Emma Corrin to their cast. Despite Corrin not being a stranger to superhero stuff, as she also appeared in DC’s Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler, fans are still intrigued about what she will bring to the threequel.
Corrin rose to stardom after portraying the young Princess Diana of Wales in the fourth season of the Netflix hit drama series The Crown (2016-). Corrin received widespread acclaim for their noteworthy performance as a real-life icon, and they were nominated for Emmys, Critics' Choice, Screen Actors Guild, and numerous other awards. With this, Marvel is expected to delight in Corrin's stellar acting skills as they score an undisclosed, probably villainous role in the X-Men franchise.
After Variety broke the news, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to welcome the breakout star to his Deadpool family. A new addition to the family! The Deadpool family, for clarity. Which is just like a real family except with less swearing… Welcome, Emma Corrin!” he wrote. Reynolds will be reprising his role as Deadpool, the alter ego of Wade Wilson, with Hugh Jackman returning as well as Wolverine.

After leading Lady Chatterley’s Lover and starring opposite Harry Styles in My Policeman, Corrin is currently playing the title character in an adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando at London’s Garrick Theatre. For the Marvel project, the actress’ role remains under wraps; whether they will play a human or a mutant.
Shawn Levy, who directed Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project, will direct Deadpool 3, while Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin (Bob's Burgers) wrote the screenplay. Marvel Studios has high hopes for the film, as the previous two installments grossed over $700 million worldwide. After Disney purchased 20th Century Studios in 2019, this will be the first Deadpool film to be released under the Marvel Studios banner.
Deadpool 3 is expected to premiere on November 8, 2024.
