The Boys star Erin Moriarty recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with Graves' disease.

The actress made her breakthrough when she played Starlight in the hit Prime Video series. She is about to finish her run as the fan-favorite character, as they are currently working on the final season.

What is the Impact of Graves' Disease Diagnosis on Erin Moriarty?

"Autoimmune disease manifests differently in everybody/every body. Your experience will be different from mine. My experience will be different from yours. Perhaps greatly, perhaps minutely," the actress wrote in her caption.

"One thing I can say: if I hadn’t chalked it all up to stress and fatigue, I would’ve caught this sooner. A month ago, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease. Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on. It’s been increasing in strength ever since.

Moriarty added, "If yours is dimming, even slightly, go get checked. Don’t 'suck it up' and transcend suffering; you deserve to be comfy. Sh*t’s hard enough as is."

In case you're not familiar, according to Mayo Clinic, Graves' disease is "an immune system condition that affects the thyroid gland. It causes the body to make too much thyroid hormone. That condition is called hyperthyroidism."

What to Expect in The Boys Season 5

Moriarty is currently working on the fifth and final season of The Boys, which is set to premiere on Prime Video sometime next year.

The main cast is expected to return. Jensen Ackles is also expected to reprise the role of Soldier Boy, and he will reunite with his Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.

Showrunner Eric Kripke teased a major Homelander storyline that they will explore during the fifth season.

"[Homelander] just wants a dad to love him and be proud of him. And without spoiling anything in Season 5, I would say, because the revelation that Soldier Boy was his father came so late in Season 3," he said.

"We never really got the chance to play it, but actually playing this father-son relationship between those two characters, there’s a lot of material to mine there and a lot of fraught emotional turns. So we’re able to dig into that in Season 5, and it has been a blast watching those two actors play off each other in the dailies."
