Fans will have something to look forward to in this exciting update from showrunner Eric Kripke ahead of the upcoming The Boys Season 4 premiere in August 2022. As anticipation builds for the hit Prime Video series, Kripke has teased a few hints about what viewers can expect.
Showrunner Hypes The Boys Season 4
On Twitter, Kripke posted a picture of a can of potted meat to promote the filming of The Boys Season 4 finale. In response, the official Prime Video UK account shares a photo of Timothy, the octopus pal of The Deep, with the gloomy remark, "no thanks we brought our own snacks!"
A recent update reveals that the project is still on track to wrap filming in March 2023, as had previously been announced.
The Boys Season 4 will also serve as a reunion of sorts for Supernatural's creator, Kripke. A pair of Supernatural guest stars, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Rob Benedict, will be in the next Prime Video series. The part of Hughie's mother has also been cast with Rosemarie DeWitt. There is no set air date for the forthcoming episodes at this time.
How The Boys Season 3 Ended
Concerningly, The Boys Season 3 ended with Ryan beaming after witnessing the crowd's pleased reaction to the fact that Homelander viciously killed a protester, suggesting that Ryan might follow after his wicked father.
Cameron Crovetti's addition as a series regular in The Boys Season 4 solidifies Ryan's growing prominence in the upcoming season. Other notable additions to the cast include Valorie Curry as Firecracker and Susan Heyward as Sister Sage.
Some other information has also been released, such as the title of The Boys Season 4 finale: Assassination Run. That might mean the end of the show's status quo, as the writers have been hesitant to kill off any of the show's primary protagonists up to this point. The ever-expanding roster suggests that the next installment could be the ideal time for a major cast change.
