Sony Pictures and director Sam Mendes have officially announced the actors who will play the Fab Four in the upcoming The Beatles biopic.
For the past several months, there have been rumors surrounding the casting of the highly anticipated biopic of the iconic band, and the people involved have been mum on the details. It all changed today as they finally made it official.
Sony Introduces the Stars of The Beatles Four-Film Biopic
During their recent CinemaCon presentation, Sony Pictures and Mendes unveiled the four actors who will play the Fab Four in the four-film The Beatles biopic.
They confirmed that Paul Mescal (as Paul McCartney), Harris Dickinson (as John Lennon), Barry Keoghan (as Ringo Starr), and Joseph Quinn (as George Harrison) are headlining the highly anticipated project.
Aside from the casting confirmation, Sony also announced that all four The Beatles movies will be released in theaters simultaneously in April 2028, and Mendes described it as the first "bingeable moment in cinema."
While there are no details yet regarding the order of the rollout, Mendes teased that it will take him more than a year to shoot all four movies.
It is unknown yet when the project will begin filming, but there is no doubt that it will be one of the most highly anticipated cinematic releases in the next few years.
What is The Beatles Four-Part Biopic About?
Mendes' The Beatles biopic will be an ambitious undertaking as it will consist of four movies, with each told from the perspective of a member.
The official logline teased: "Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary."
The director told the CinemaCon crowd, "I had been trying to do a film for years, but I finally gave up." He felt the "story was too big for one film" and a TV series didn’t seem quite right.
"There had to be a way to tell the epic story for a new generation... I can assure you there is still plenty left to explore, and I think we found a way to do that," Mendes promised.
