- Quick Answer: There are currently no plans for The Book of Boba Fett season 2; Temuera Morrison recently confirmed the character is "on the shelf" at Lucasfilm.
Nearly four years after the first season concluded on Disney+, star Temuera Morrison has finally provided a definitive, albeit disappointing, update on the future of the legendary bounty hunter. While fans hoped for Fett to take over Tatooine's criminal underworld, The Book of Boba Fett season 2 won't be seeing the light of day anytime soon.

Speaking with Inverse, Morrison recently revealed that he has not been contacted for any upcoming Star Wars projects, including the highly anticipated theatrical film, The Mandalorian & Grogu.
"[I'm] shelved, that's all, like a jar of peaches," Morrison told the outlet, but not without expressing his own hope of a potential return, "When it does get opened, I'm going to come out sweeter, darling."
Morrison previously revealed that he received some pushback from Lucasfilm for having fans "send a fax, or a letter, or an email" to demand Fett's return last year.
"I was only joking. I'm at a convention, and I say stupid things," Morrison said, "Then I've got [Lucasfilm] ringing me; 'Look, you've been put on the shelf, Boba Fett. We might open up the jar later.'"
"It was a big deal for me," Morrison continued, "When you do a series like Boba Fett and work with Ming-Na [Wen], I started to think, 'Man, this is it. I'm away. Season 2, 3, 4.' But at the end of it, we had a great time. I was honored to be brought back after all that time."
The Aquaman actor still appreciated his time in the franchise, adding, "I'm Jango. I'm Boba. I'm Commander Cody. I'm all the clones. I'm Captain Rex... the list goes on, so I really can't complain."
It's worth mentioning that Boba Fett's story was already posed as a limited series. Still, the most beloved characters usually get the spotlight and get to expand their world through reprisals of their roles, so the disappointment is understandable for fans, too.
Why The Book of Boba Fett was Doomed Since The Mandalorian Season 3 Cameo

The Moana 2 star played the titular antihero in the 2021 show, The Book of Boba Fett, with fans left to wonder in the dust since the second season closed its curtains.
While The Book of Boba Fett was intended to be a gritty underworld drama, it famously pivoted mid-season to become The Mandalorian season 2.5. By dedicating two full episodes to Din Djarin's journey and the reunion with Grogu, the series essentially undermined its own protagonist's arc.
Morrison didn't shy away from criticizing that decision, and even said that Din's extended cameo played a role in "ruining" the spin-off. Considering the turnout, it's also likely that The Mandalorian and Grogu is off the table for Morrison.
Meanwhile, The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives on May 22. Stay tuned.
