Taylor Swift was a huge Twilight fan to the point that she pleaded with director Chris Weitz if she could make a cameo in The Twilight Saga: The New Moon. Even though Swift is one of the most famous singers of her generation, she was reportedly fine with appearing as an extra in the movie just because she loved it so much.
Taylor Swift Pleaded To Make A Cameo In Twilight, But The Director Didn’t Grant Her Request
But Taylor Swift’s pleas seemingly fell on deaf ears because she was never cast in the Twilight franchise. However, Weitz explained why he turned down Swift and his reason is obviously nothing personal.
“Taylor Swift and I had the same agent at the time, and he said like, ‘Taylor would like to be in this movie. Not because of you, but because she’s a Twihard. But she will be someone at the cafeteria, or the diner, or whatever but she just wants to be in this movie,” Weitz said (via Life & Style).

Having Taylor Swift In The Twilight Movies Would’ve Been Risky For The Franchise
Weitz said that he couldn’t take the risk of casting Swift because her huge fanbase could be a distraction to the viewers.
“The hardest thing for me, was to be like, ‘The moment that Taylor Swift walks onto the screen for about five minutes, nobody is going to be able to process anything. I kick myself for it too because I was like, ‘Wow, I could have been, like, hanging out with Taylor Swift and maybe we could’ve been friends or something. And so, I sort of feel like, ugh, I had sort of cost myself a chance to hang out with Taylor Swift and she must’ve just been like, ‘Who is this jerk who would say no?’ But sometimes you make decisions, and you go, ‘This is for the best of the film,’” Weitz explained.
Taylor Swift Had The Opportunity To Appear In A Twilight Parody
But in 2009, Swift finally had the opportunity to take part in a Twilight parody on Saturday Night Live. At the time, she played the role of Stella, a satire of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) from the Twilight franchise.
Even though Swift didn’t have the opportunity to star alongside Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, she had the chance to showcase her acting chops in other projects like Valentine’s Day, Amsterdam, The Giver, and more. She also lent her voice to the hit animated movie, Lorax.
