Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's friendship has reportedly been halted as a result of the recent development in the legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
The Grammy-winning singer is now also involved in the legal drama, as she is also facing a subpoena from Baldoni's team. It remains to be seen whether we will see her take a stand in the trial next year, but fans are now wondering whether their friendship has been impacted.
Report Claims Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's Friendship Has 'Halted'
According to People, sources told them that Swift and Lively's friendship has been struggling, and it is currently on pause due to the Baldoni legal battle.
"Their friendship has halted. Taylor wants no part in this drama," a source close to Swift told the outlet.
An insider added that Swift and Lively are "taking some space," but they also clarified that they are "not no longer friends."
The subpoena has also "fractured" the "fragile peace" between the two stars.
Last month, it was reported that Swift "was really hurt" when she was implicated in the legal battle, but they were also intending to "put it all behind them."
The report also revealed that Lively's friendship with Gigi Hadid has also been impacted by the legal battle since both of them are also mutual friends with Swift.
"Gigi feels terrible that her close friend is being pulled into the legal drama," a source close to Hadid said.
Another source added, "Gigi is closer to Taylor and has definitely taken her side in this whole drama. Gigi doesn't want to get involved in this whole ordeal, but she is closer to Taylor and has distanced herself from Blake, although she still considers her a friend."
Blake Lively Reflects on Her 'Intense' Year
During her guest appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier this month, Lively addressed the "intense" year that she had due to the controversies.
While she didn't directly discuss her legal drama with Baldoni, she reflected on the challenges that she's been facing and why she is fighting.
"What I can say without going too into it is that this year has been the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in my life, and I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially right now, afraid to share their experiences, and fear is by design," Lively said.
"It’s what keeps us silent. But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak. So I do feel fortunate that I’ve been able to, and as a woman, you have the ability to use your voice – that’s kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls. It’s a pretty simple thing."
