tvN confirmed, as per Soompi, that the Tale of the Nine Tailed Season 2 and Season 3 are happening. However, the local South Korean television network has not yet announced the official release dates of the upcoming new installments.

It remains to be seen, as well, if Tale of the Nine Tailed Season 2 would be available for streaming online. But, just like Season 1, the imminent new installment would likely be made available for streaming Netflix, iQiyi, and Viu.

As for its storyline, Cosmopolitan reported that the Tale of the Nine Tailed Season 2 would be set during the Japanese colonial occupation while Season 3 would be set during the Joseon Dynasty. No other details about the plot of the imminent second installment have been released as of yet.

However, tvN revealed that the Tale of the Nine Tailed Season 2 would have a total of 16 episodes. Kang Shin Hyo, who directed the first season, would also be helming the forthcoming installment.
