Earlier this year, the anime was revealed to be in the works by Yokohama Animation Laboratory, and its original release window was the summer of 2024.
Soon, it was revealed to be getting a one-hour premiere that was originally set for June 27, 2024. Now though, this premiere along with the show’s broadcast has been delayed quite extensively.
Instead of being delayed to a closer date, Sword of the Demon Hunter is now set to air sometime in 2025, with no specific release window.

Based on the production committee’s announcement, the anime’s premiere was moved due to production delays, though it’s not clear what the cause of these are.
This delay is likely because of Yokohama Animation Laboratory’s troubled production of the yuri romance anime Whisper Me a Love Song.
This anime premiered in April, though its last four episodes are delayed with no release date yet. Moreover, this anime has already been delayed once before, as it was originally set to premiere in January.

Given that there’s no word on a specific release date window, the 2025 release may be as early as winter 2025 or as late as next year’s fall season.
