For weeks, DC Studios co-chairman and director James Gunn has been busy casting for the actors who will play the DCU's Clark Kent and Lois Lane in Superman: Legacy.
Recently, he conducted screentests for the six actors who are the frontrunners for the roles where Gunn and the other executives at Warner Bros. Discovery make their final decision on who will lead the first DCU film.
Now, it looks like they have made their decision as they finally announced who they've cast to play the new Man of Steel and his romantic partner Lois Lane.
David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan Are Set to Be the DCU's Clark Kent and Lois Lane
TheWrap confirmed that David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane in Superman: Legacy. Their casting comes after a high-profile search and rumors and speculations online surrounding it.
Corenswet has been an online fan-favorite to take on the role for months now and there were rumors in the last few weeks that he was the top choice to play the new Man of Steel. Now, it's all official.
Prior to this, he was known for his main roles in the Netflix shows The Politician and Hollywood and is currently set to be one of the stars of the upcoming film Twisters which is also under Warner Bros.
Brosnahan also become one of the top favorites for the role of Lois Lane when reports started to emerge regarding the film's casting. She recently concluded her starring role on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel where she won an Emmy for playing the titular role.
Nicholas Hoult, Tom Brittney, Emma Mackey, and Phoebe Dynveoir were the other alleged frontrunners for the roles before it all came down to the pair of Corenswet and Brosnahan.
Now, all eyes are on the casting of the other pivotal roles in the film such as Jimmy Olsen and Lex Luthor, who might be next on the casting list as a report recently revealed that Alexander Skarsgard and Bill Skarsgard are the top choices.
The film is also set to introduce members of The Authority and casting is also expected for some of the roles soon. We should be hearing more details about it in the coming weeks.

Superman: Legacy is slated for release in theaters on July 11, 2025.
