James Gunn's Superman will pay tribute to the late Christopher Reeve as the film is set to feature a cameo appearance from his son Will Reeve.
Filming is still ongoing for the DCU movie as we've seen in several set photos that have surfaced online for the past several days where it showed us our new glimpse at David Corenswet's Man of Steel and the other characters.
While the plot details regarding the film are still under wraps, it is expected to harken back to the traditional and optimistic portrayal of the character just like in the original Reeve movies.
Christopher Reeve's Son Will Reeve to Cameo in DCU's Superman
A new batch of set photos from the filming of Superman in downtown Cleveland revealed that Christopher Reeve's son Will Reeve will be making a cameo appearance in the DCU film.
Will Reeve is the late actor's youngest son and an ABC News correspondent. He will be playing a TV reporter just like in his real-life job.
Throughout the years, fans have noted that Will has a strong physical resemblance to his father.

Considering how influential Reeve's Superman films are to Gunn's approach to the DCU project, it's not surprising that Will was invited to make a cameo.
Not only that, it's a respectful way for them to pay tribute to the late actor and acknowledge his legacy as they're reintroducing the Man of Steel to a new generation.
It is also a huge contrast to The Flash's CGI resurrection of Christopher Reeve's Superman where the late actor's family members have no involvement at all in his "cameo."
It is exciting to see how Will's cameo plays out and whether there are more Christopher Reeve references in the rest of the film.
Superman is slated for release in theaters on July 11, 2025.
