Elon Musk’s transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has a strained relationship with her tech billionaire father for various reasons. One of them involves his history of making hurtful, transphobic comments online.
Therefore, the 20-year-old responded by strutting on the RuPaul’s Drag Race runway Thursday night in New York.
Elon Musk Makes Transphobic Comments, Daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson Pays Him Back by Owning the RuPaul Drag Race Catwalk
Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk’s daughter, who came out as transgender in 2020, flaunted her moves during the Season 10 premiere event of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
In a video posted on the @virtualtea Instagram account, Wilson can be seen putting on a show with her poses, dancing, and hair-flipping, all while looking straight into the camera.
While many of the influencers’ fans, friends, and the show’s participants cheered her on, it was certainly the opposite of the treatment she received from her father in March.
Musk posted about Wilson on X, commenting on her life choices and gender identity in a way that many found hurtful to the trans community:
“My son, Xavier, died. He was killed by the woke mind virus. Now, the woke mind virus will die.”
Being a big fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Wilson took to TikTok and Instagram to respond to the Tesla CEO’s post with a video that also referenced one of the All Stars Season 3 contestants.
Wilson included a screenshot of her father’s viral post, followed by a clip of herself lip-syncing Morgan McMichaels’ iconic line:
“I look pretty good for a dead bitch.”
She then captioned the video with a jab at her father, repeating the line, “And you don’t.”
Vivian Jenna Wilson’s Coming Out Story
Wilson admitted in a 2020 interview with Teen Vogue that not embracing and proudly announcing her identity might have led her “down a destructive path.”
She shared that it was around 11 p.m. when she came to terms with being trans. “I know for a fact I am trans. I had known for a few months at that point, and I was like, ‘I cannot f***ing do this anymore.’”
Wilson also mentioned that the emotional toll had been so severe she experienced mental breakdowns, even during her classes, and felt like she “just wanted to rot.” She said this all happened during a time “where puberty was really picking up and everything” in her life was “completely falling apart.”
She posted the revelation on her public Instagram account. However, she stated that she regretted not telling her mother, Justine Musk, before making the announcement.
Wilson is still grateful that her mother supported her decision to transition, both then and now. “When I came out to her, she was like, ‘Yeah, that figures.’ She kind of [pieced it together].”
Musk, on the other hand, was not as accepting as his first wife.
“I had not talked to him in months — in months — so I had to get f***ing parental consent to get testosterone blockers and [hormone replacement therapy],” Wilson said.
