Twitch streamer Amouranth revealed that armed individuals broke into her home, demanding that she hand over her cryptocurrency.
She shared the incident live on her social media, revealing that she scared off the intruders by firing at them.
Amouranth Held at Gunpoint Over Cryptocurrency Fortune
Kaitlyn Siragusa, known as Amouranth on Twitch and Kick, was recently attacked in a place she considered mostly safe — her home.
Late on the night of March 2, the 31-year-old content creator was awakened by armed intruders who broke into her house.
She posted a series of alarming updates on X, where she has 3.8 million followers. The first one read:
"I'm being too robbed at gunpoint."
Her posts revealed that the intruders pulled her out of bed and began shouting that they wanted to access her cryptocurrency.
Amouranth later shared another shocking update, stating that she was covered in someone else's blood.
A minute later, she explained why she posted about the attack on X instead of calling the police:
"Was at gunpoint they gave me phone and said log in with gun to my head and I tweeted because calling would be a death sentence."
Amouranth added that she was bleeding after being struck with a gun, but fortunately, she did not sustain serious injuries. The Twitch star then informed her fans that she was heading to the hospital for treatment.
Masked Bitcoin Robbers Caught on CCTV, Gunshots and Screams Were Heard as They Ran Away
A video shared by Amouranth on Monday afternoon showed the moment three men ran into a building, which is part of her house, with a woman. It’s not clear if the woman in the footage is Amouranth.
Seconds later, gunshots were heard, and the three men ran away, with one shouting, “I got shot!” Amouranth also posted on X that a high-resolution version of the video, taken from her Nest Camera, is with the police.
The police informed Fox 26 Houston, according to Amouranth, that she led the men inside the building where her husband and their weapon were.
Aside from the video, the influencer also posted a picture of her broken door, which she claims was shot and kicked by the bitcoin robbers.
Amouranth, who recently sparked controversy for sharing her opinion on the LGBT community in Los Angeles, has also been vocal about her cryptocurrency earnings.
In November, she posted a screenshot of her Coinbase account displaying her 211 Bitcoin, which, at the time, was worth $20 million.
Fans expressed concern for her and were relieved she was safe, but some questioned the incident. Some are convinced the break-in was staged, as they find it hard to believe that someone with such significant wealth would not have 24-hour security.
Meanwhile, many defended her and urged others to wait for the final police reports before speculating.
