If Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 is already dark, co-creator Ross Duffer teased that Volume 2 will be even darker and far scarier.

Ross offered a glimpse into Chapters 5, 6, and 7, revealing their titles and directors along with subtle hints about what’s to come.

So, if Volume 1 already kept viewers on the edge of their seats, expect Volume 2 to make your jaws drop.

What to Expect from Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2?

In a post on Instagram, Ross shared an update about Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 by posting brief videos revealing the titles of the next three episodes.

Chapter Five, titled “Shock Jock,” will pick up where Chapter Four, Sorcerer,” left off and is directed by Frank Darabont.

“Frank Darabont is back, but he flexes very different muscles on this one than he did on ‘Turnbow Trap’ – it’s far darker, and far scarier,” he wrote.

Chapter Six, “Escape from Camazots,” will mark Shawn Levy’s return to the director’s chair and is said to be “the biggest episode of the three.”

“The performances make us cry every time we watch it,” Ross revealed. By the looks of it, this one will be a deeply emotional episode.

Chapter Seven, “The Bridge,” is co-directed by the Duffer Brothers and Levy. If “Escape from Camazots” is teased to be emotional, Ross said this episode would be “the most emotional chapter of the season.”

While it remains to be seen what will happen here, Ross hinted it would be “a long six-day wait for the finale.”

It will be a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year indeed, as Netflix is set to drop Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 and Volume 3 on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Eve (December 31).

So, the year will not end without fans learning the fate of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will (Noah Schnapp), and the rest of their friends – along with the people of Hawkins.

In addition to streaming, the finale – Chapter 8, titled “The Rightside Up” – which will run for over two hours, will also hit the big screen. It will premiere simultaneously on Netflix and in select theaters across North America at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The streamer has also launched a popup website, ST5Finale.com, for fans to see the exact locations across the U.S. and Canada where the finale will be screened.

“We're beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters – it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen,” the Duffer Brothers said (via Entertainment Weekly), referring to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and chief content officer Bela Bajaria. “Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect – dare we say bitchin’ – way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”
