Stranger Things Actor Wants To Do A Star Wars Film

Gaten Matarazzo has made a name for himself by playing Dustin Henderson in the Netflix series Stranger Things. However, the young actor is hoping he could cross over to a galaxy far, far away.

Matarazzo recently made an appearance at the FanX Convention in Salt Lake City, as per ComicBook.com. The 16-year-old actor was asked if there was any possibility that he would be getting a call from Star Wars anytime soon. "I want to know that, too. I'm not kidding," Matarazzo responded.

The Stranger Things star admitted he has been a huge fan of the franchise since he was a little boy. "My uncle from Michigan came to visit me for a summer when I was six years old, and he got me obsessed with Star Wars," Matarazzo shared. Needless to say, the young actor was delighted when the panel was interrupted by Darth Vader and a group of Stormtroopers.

Matarazzo, who was celebrating his birthday that evening, immediately declared that he has no problem joining the Dark Side. "I just hugged Darth Vader and didn't die," he said. "Luke Skywalker who?"

There is still a chance for Matarazzo to be a part of the next Star Wars film. Episode IX is currently being filmed and might be looking for fresh talents to join the cast.

Dustin is set to return in Stranger Things Season 3, which will consist of only eight episodes. The series is expected to air on Netflix in mid-2019.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
