Stephen King Confirms New The Stand Series On CBS All Access

It looks like there's just no stopping Stephen King this year. The author has just confirmed that a new series adaptation of his novel The Stand will air on CBS All Access.

According to Variety, King released a statement confirming the new show that will air on CBS All Access. The series will be written and executive produced by Homeland writer Ben Cavell and The New Mutants director Josh Boone. Boone will also direct the episodes of the new show.

The 1978 novel takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly strain of influenza is unleashed and kills 99% of humanity. The survivors are then forced to deal with the breakdown of society.

The Stand has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is expected to have 10 episodes that will air by next year.
