D23 had given us a new look at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and there's been a lot of discussions online on whether the ‘Dark Rey' in the end is real or not. What's interesting is, the official Star Wars site had somewhat confirmed it was a vision and then edited the post to make it sound vaguer.

Starwars.com refers to the dark side Rey as a "vision"

As of now, StarWars.com has changed the wording, and it now reads:
…the new footage, including a moment where Rey appears to toss a fully-ignited lightsaber, and of course the sight of Rey with a reticulated red blade, was nothing short of thrilling.
We don't know as to why the site decided to change it, but some think that it was merely edited because everyone was taking ‘vision' as confirmation that ‘Dark Rey' wasn't real. If anything Lucasfilm probably wants to keep the audiences guessing, so the vaguer the better.
Personally, I do think that Dark Rey isn't real. We've seen this kind of thing before with Empire Strikes Back when Luke confronts Vader in a vision only to find out that he was fighting himself. With Rey having Force visions in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, it's likely she'll have one more in TROS, and we'll get to see her fight against a version of herself—kind of like Captain America in Avengers: Endgame.
Real or not, everyone is excited to see what ‘Dark Rey' entails for the film. Catch her in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker when it comes out Dec. 20.
