It looks like Palpatine isn't the only one making a surprise return in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker.
Disney just recently released a new clip taken from the highly anticipated sequel to Star Wars: The Last Jedi and surprisingly, the clip seems to confirm the return of another iconic Star Wars villain – Darth Vader.
Well, not physically. In the clip, fans get to hear the voice of Darth Vader which we presume is being reprised by James Earl Jones. Though it seems unlikely that we'll get to see Darth Vader walking down the aisles of the First Order with a heavy breath, this little clip featuring the voice of Darth Vader makes us wonder whether we'll get to see Anakin Skywalker return, possibly as a Force Ghost.
Anakin Skywalker star Hayden Christiansen has been attending more Star Wars conventions as of late, sparking a number of rumors that he might reprise his role as Star Wars' very first emo Sith Lord in The Rise of Skywalker. Could this new clip confirm those rumors?
We'll have to wait and see.
What we do know for sure is that Palpatine is set to return in Episode IX, though we're not sure to what capacity the Sith Lord is returning. From the looks of it, Darth Sidious is going to play a major role in The Rise of Skywalker and it seems like he's going to battle with Rey (Daisy Ridley) and maybe with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in the film.
