Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Audio Book Delayed Indefinitely

It was no mystery that fans did not like how Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker turned out, and there are rumblings going around that there is a ‘directors cut' of the film that would have made more sense. What's curious is some of the expanded material for TROS has been recalled. Could this be a hint at Disney trying to change something?

As fans have pointed out on Twitter, pre-orders for The Rise of Skywalker: Expanded Edition has been canceled as the book has been delayed indefinitely. Check out this post:

We don't know what this means behind the scenes, but fans are already speculating as to why. This isn't the first companion book related to TROS that's been recalled. Disney had also done the same for The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker; some speculate it's because the book contains art that would otherwise fuel more outrage from the fans.

Some think that this audiobook delay could mean that Disney is trying to rewrite it to address the problems that people had with The Rise of Skywalker—one of the chief ones being the lack of explanation as to why Palpatine was alive this whole time. At some point, I'm hoping Disney is just thinking of releasing a ‘special edition for TROS. I'm sure fans would love to sit through a 3-hour version that would give the story more time to breathe and characters more time to develop.

We don't know when the audiobook comes out, but you can check out Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker now in theaters.
