Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have ended up becoming one of the most divisive films in the Star Wars franchise, however, Rian Johnson's critically-acclaimed entry in Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy has also earned a lot of praise from fans and critics.
Today, The Last Jedi trends on Twitter as fans shower their love for Episode VIII.
The film's been getting a lot of love and attention after Ahsoka Tahno Twitter fan page Empress Ahsoka Tano decided to share a post declaring The Last Jedi as one of the Star Wars greats.
Countering against the opinion that The Last Jedi "ruined" Star Wars, Empress Ahsoka Tano asked fans to share their honest opinion about the film and it's resulted in a flood of tweets about the film.
There were a lot of fans who shared their love for the film, calling it an "ambitious," "beautiful," "gorgeous," and "creative Star Wars movie.
Of course, not everyone agreed with the praise being given the film. Traditional Star Wars fans who've been strongly against the film have also responded to the post, saying that they disagree with all of the creative choices made in the film, especially when it came to Luke Skywalker.
Despite the divisiveness of The Last Jedi, the film remains a success for Lucasfilm and Disney. Not only did Episode IX manage to earn more than Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with a worldwide total gross of $1.33 billion, but it also received warm and welcome reviews from critics who praise the film for honoring the Star Wars saga's rich legacy with an emotion-rich narrative.
