Star Wars Reylo Kiss Retcon Pushes WeLoveBenSolo Campaign

It looks like the We Love Ben Solo campaign is gaining ground after the novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker reveals the truth about Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) shared kiss with Rey (Daisy Ridley).

Lucasfilm may have yet to officially release the novelization of The Rise of Skywalker to the public, however, the studio offered promo copies to fans attending this year's C2E2. The book caused quite some backlash among fans. Not only did it fail to offer more insight into Kylo Ren in one of his most pivotal arcs in Disney's sequel trilogy, but it also retconned a few things from the film, including the big Kylo Ren and Rey kiss at the end of Episode IX.

Now, Star Wars fans rally around to fight for #WeLoveBenSolo, campaigning against the book and all of its retcons.

Check out some of the tweets down here:

To Star Wars fans rooting for Reylo, the kiss at the end of The Rise of Skywalker was the culmination of the long-awaited pairing of the sequel trilogy. However, the novelization of the movie retconned the kiss, saying that there was really nothing romantic going on between Rey and Ben during the exchange. According to the book, the kiss had no passion or love. It was supposed to be a kiss of gratitude.

Honestly, it's terrible how the film sullies important moments for the Star Wars fanbase. The novel even goes as far as revealing that the Palpatine seen in the film was nothing but a clone of the original Darth Sidious. It's all a riot, really.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to arrive on Digital on March 17 and then on Blu-Ray, DVD, Ultra 4K on March 31.
