Star Wars Fans Spot Kylo Ren Error In New Episode IX Trailer

Lucasfilm released a brand new trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker back on Monday, and Star Wars fans have been going crazy over the new footage featured in the video. Of course, fans have also been deeply scrutinizing the trailer, and it seems like they've spotted a small editing mistake in the teaser.

While most fans were busy gushing over Dark Side Rey (Daisy Ridley) in the new trailer for Episode IX, others were busy poring over the details of the footage, and it looks like fans on Reddit spotted a Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) mistake in the video. The error was spotted in the scene where Kylo Ren and Rey finally lock sabers on what seems to be the remains of the death star. In the sequence, we get to see the Star Wars sequel trilogy characters' shadows reflected on the ground. However, while Rey and most of Kylo Ren have the proper shadow shape, Kylo's cape seems to be missing any sort of shadow to it.

It's a very small mistake – though it seems like it wasn't too small to be left unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans on Reddit. Of course, this can easily be remedied during the film's post-production period. It doesn't seem too hard, adding in a shadow where a shadow should be. The Rise of Skywalker doesn't premiere until the end of the year, so there's still a whole lot of time to fix the error.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas on December 20, 2019.
