Star Wars Fan Theory Points Out Where Luke Skywalker’s Green Lightsaber Has Been Hiding

Star Wars fans have quite a number questions heading towards Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and while most are caught up with the Emperor's (Ian McDiarmid) return and Rey's (Daisy Ridley) true origin, some have been wondering about Luke's (Mark Hamill) green lightsaber.

While Luke's blue lightsaber is featured prominently in Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy, we've never really gotten to learn about what's become of the Jedi Master's green lightsaber. Now, it looks like Star Wars fan has a pretty interesting theory guessing where Luke's other saber really is.

Posting on Reddit's r/FanTheories subreddit, a Star Wars fan suggests that the green saber is going to be launched right out of R2-D2 in The Rise of Skywalker. Fans might remember how Star Wars: Return of the Jedi featured a scene where fans got to see R2D2 having a storage compartment holding Luke's green lightsaber.

According to the theory, the saber might have been with the droid all throughout the sequel trilogy and it's only when all hope is lost in Episode IX do we get to see R2 launching the green lightsaber out of the compartment to help Rey.

The theory might not really come to pass in The Rise of Skywalker, however, it doesn't seem entirely impossible. It would be epic to see R2-D2 contributing to such a significant moment in the highly anticipated sequel trilogy entry.
